Canadian Osteopathic Association Membership
Full Membership and Affiliate Membership with the Canadian Osteopathic Association (COA) is open to graduates of American Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Membership Categories
A) Full Membership:

Full Members must be licensed to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine by the physician registration authority for the respective Canadian province or territory in which he or she is located.

Full Members must be graduates of a COCA accredited college of Osteopathic Medicine.
B) Affiliate Membership:

Affiliate Membership may be granted by a majority vote of the Board of Directors to an osteopathic physician outside of the geographical limits of Canada, who is a graduate of a COCA accredited program, who is registered for medical practice by a government accredited organization outside of Canada, and who holds registration in good standing.
C) Resident Membership:

May be granted by the Board of Directors to an osteopathic physician who is a graduate of a COCA accredited program, and who is engaged in a residency program that will lead to eligibility for eventual full registration with a Canadian professional regulatory body, must have expressed an interest in eventual practice in a province or territory of Canada, and must be a Canadian Citizen, or legally entitled to permanent residency in Canada. Note: Those residents in their final few months of training who have paid COA Resident Membership fees will continue to be COA members through December of their year of residency program completion and will not be required to pay the First Year in Practice membership fee until January of the year following graduation.

First 2 years in Practice: $250 per year
Subsequent years: $350 per year
Affiliate Membership
$100 per year
Resident in Training Membership
$25 per year
