The Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Examination (COMLEX) is a series of medical examinations that tests your basic medical and clinical knowledge. It tests similar content to the USMLE. However, COMLEX also tests your knowledge on osteopathic manual treatment (OMT).

COMLEX Level 1 and 2 is required by all DO students to graduate. COMLEX Level III is required by DOs in order to practice medicine as a physician.

COMLEX Level 1 is taken at the end of year 2.

COMLEX Level 2 is taken at the end of year 3.

COMLEX Level 3 is taken during your PGY1 year.
